Hand-Painted Glazed Ceramic Pot with Pewter Lid

£28

This is a beautiful petrol green ceramic jug/pot with elegantly designed pewter top. Pewter was first used around the beginning of the bronze age in the Middle East. The earliest known piece of pewter was found in an Egyptian tomb, c. 1450 BC. Later in the century, pewter alloys were often used as a base metal for silver-plated objects.

The hand-painted piece can be used for your warm milk or for tea. Indeed, it can make a great teapot with its ceramic interior.
